Scientific program

OESO-SEMPIRE 17th World Conference | Esophagus 2026 Versailles | June 14-17, 2026 | Venue: Palais de Congrès

Preliminary program

The novel OESO-SEMPIRE Scientific Program

The original conference format is based on sessions of 90 minutes (1h30).

  • At the start of 24 sessions, an informal 10-minute chat between the two chairs will enable them to introduce the questions to follow, explain their design, and discuss their terms.
This free conversation on the stage will allow the audience to grasp the reasons behind the choice of the questions that were considered to best shed light on the topic of the session.
  • Six questions will follow, according to the OESO format, with answers given in 5 minutes by a speaker considered as an expert in the domain.
  • After 30 minutes and 6 answers given to these questions, the speakers will join the chairs on stage, to take part in an intense 50-minute discussion between themselves and with the audience, to wind up the session.

The general framework of the scientific program is based on this model, but with 3 different types of sessions:

  • 8 sessions, will apply this model in 90 minutes (1h30): Sessions 7-9-10-12-15-18-21-25.
  • 8 grand sessions, with broader subjects, will apply it over two consecutive sessions (3h): Sessions 1-4, 2-5, 8-11, 13-16, 14-17, 19-22, 20-23, 26-29.
  • 5 sessions will comprise 9 presentations of 7 minutes each, followed by 3 minutes of discussion: Sessions 3-6-24-27-28.
  • 1 session for selected abstracts 30.

The program of the congress will therefore be condensed into 190 high level scientific answers to questions. The message they will deliver to the scientific community will be an exceptional synthesis.
It will correspond in the best possible way to the title of Congress: “Esophagus 2026”.
